The new year is almost here. It’s a time to reflect & make improvements. Many of us will make resolutions. They might be to eat healthier, exercise more, save money, travel, lose weight, gain weight, finish a project, etc, etc, etc. These can all be great things, but I think there is something more important.
I think the most important thing is to remember not to take your loved ones for granted. It’s an easy thing to do. They are the people you are the most comfortable with. They know you better than anyone. It’s easy to assume they always know your intentions & your feelings, but every mind is different, & every person is different from day to day. Make sure your loved ones feel loved by you. Make sure your loved ones feel liked by you. Treat each day as a separate lifetime with them. Make every single one count.
Don’t get caught up on the little things. If you love someone, you love someone. They might do things you don’t like from time to time, but that’s okay. The beauty of a relationship is that each person brings something different. Chances are that’s why you fell in love with them in the first place. Don’t forget that.
There’s no guarantee that they will be in your life tomorrow. Cherish the time you have with them. Make sure they always know how much they mean to you.
This is my New Year’s resolution. If you are like me, & this is something you need to work on, I encourage you to make it one of yours as well.
